As a fan of a wide variety of popular (and not-so-popular) music from the 1950s (and sometimes even earlier) up through the present, one of my bucket list projects for years has been to put together a list of my 100 favorite songs of all time. At some point I decided that, once I got around to figuring that out, I could put it out on a blog, for the infinitesimally small proportion of the Internet world that might be interested. So, here we are. While the Top 100 will be a major focus, I also plan to post on a variety of other musical (and occasionally non-musical) topics, in which you may or may not be interested. (If a particular posting doesn’t ring your bell, you’re only a few clicks away from a dancing cat video on YouTube.)

July 8, 2018 – Marlins 10, Nats 2 – Nationals Park

Attendance: 30,464
Duration: 3:43
Weather: 77 degrees, Clear
Wind: 9 MPH In From Right
Umpires: HP: Jim Reynolds. 1B: John Tumpane. 2B: Mike DiMuro. 3B: Mark Wegner.

Beautiful weather, lousy ballgame

Game notes – Tanner Roark’s struggles continued, as he required 102 pitches to get through 4 innings, allowing 15 baserunners and 4 runs … the short outing forced Grace, Miller, Kintzler, and Madson to each throw at least 17 pitches despite plenty of other recent work … Mark Reynolds had to record the last out in the top of the 9th, after Madson retired only 2 of the 8 batters he faced … going into the 9th, Miami had 18 hits, all of which were singles … Nats drew 9 walks but managed only 5 hits, leaving 13 on base (the Marlins stranded 17) … Nats scored 14 and 18 runs in the 2 games of the series we did NOT attend
