point that “greedy corporations” are primarily responsible for our recent
inflationary spiral.
As a fan of a wide variety of popular (and not-so-popular) music from the 1950s (and sometimes even earlier) up through the present, one of my bucket list projects for years has been to put together a list of my 100 favorite songs of all time. At some point I decided that, once I got around to figuring that out, I could put it out on a blog, for the infinitesimally small proportion of the Internet world that might be interested. So, here we are. While the Top 100 will be a major focus, I also plan to post on a variety of other musical (and occasionally non-musical) topics, in which you may or may not be interested. (If a particular posting doesn’t ring your bell, you’re only a few clicks away from a dancing cat video on YouTube.)

During the Thanksgiving weekend SXM released its Top 300 Autumn songs of the 60s, that is, songs that peaked on Billboard during the fall. It was a listeners' poll. Here is the top ten:
ReplyDelete10. Baby, I Need Your Lovin' - Four Tops
9. Big Girls Don't Cry - Four Seasons
8. Be My Baby - Ronettes
7. Never My Love - Association
6. Summer Song - Chad and Jeremy
5. To Sir, With Love - Lulu
4. Do You Believe in Magic - Lovin' Spoonful
3. Crazy - Patsy Cline
2. Hey Jude - Beatles
1. Yesterday - Beatles
Nice list. "Do You Believe In Magic" is one of my all-time favorites. "Hey Jude", not so much (Nah, na na nanana nah ... ad nauseum).
ReplyDeleteAgree with Lovin' Spoonful choice, though surprised it finished so high. Hey Jude one of my least favorite Beatle songs. "Crazy" seems like it belongs to another era when viewed in the context of the other titles. Great Willie Nelson song, though.
