Fun fact – Anita Pointer not only co-wrote (and sang lead
on) the Pointer Sisters’ Grammy-winning, country-flavored hit “Fairytale”, but
she also had a #2 hit on the country charts with Earl Thomas Conley in 1986 (“Too
Many Times”).
As the list below suggests, I prefer the eclectic sound of the
earlier Pointer Sister releases to their “more contemporary” later material.
Favorite songs (Pointer Sisters):
Fire*
Fairytale**
How Long (Betcha Got A Chick On The Side)**
Slow Hand
I’m So Excited**
Wang Dang Doodle
He’s So Shy
Neutron Dance
Automatic
* OK, this could have been #1, but everybody knows it already
** co-written by Anita Pointer
I recall reading the review in your copy of Rolling Stone (I believe) back in our LVC days, and the headline of the review read, "Yes, They Can Can."
